It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father on February 27, 2012 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital surrounded by his loved ones after a long illness. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Murdock and Theresa (MacEachern) Fraser. Dave was a retired miner and loved to get together with his family and friends and most of all, he was a devoted father. He is survived by his daughters, Rose (Tom) Riga, New Waterford, Terri Schoonbrood, Netherlands, ; sons Lenny (Delores), New Waterford and Murdock, Dartmouth. Also Mary Syms and Nelson Finlayson, who were like his own children; grandchildren Troy, Benita, Angella, Jenna, Elysia, great-grandchildren Emily, Chloe, Michael, Owen, Josh and Jude; sisters Marie, Bonita and brother Archie, also his dog Rocky. Besides his parents, Dave was also predeceased by his wife of almost 40 years, Theresa ( Syms), sisters Hattie B, Christina, Sadie, Florence, Emma Marie; brothers, John A, Alphonse, Murdock, George, Neil, Daniel and his best pal, his dog Lucky. There will be no visitation as per Dave's request, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500 The family would like to extend a special thank you to Palliative Care and the nursing staff at the New Waterford Hospital.
